The Goose

Ever tried to shake an egg really hard to try and scramble it before you cracked it; it’s nearly impossible. The goose solves that problem, and creates an easy way to scramble the egg to create it to be perfectly blended. This way you can make soft boiled eggs with ease, and have a consistent taste throughout. The goose has many uses for egg enthusiast, and it’s creative because the company made a new use for a problem that might have not been conscious before.

Barbell Denim

This product isn’t a hard good, but it’s still industrial designed. It is jeans that are created for athletic people. They tend to have larger thighs and calves, and these jeans account for that. It’s creative because it solves the problem of athletes not being able to fit into jeans because of their muscular bodies.

These Worn Shoes Progress Report April 25th, 2014

My Creative Process:

This is it. The pieces have all come together, and I am producing my final video. I had to find a soundtrack, mesh it with the voice recording, and finally import all the photos so they made sense in a clip. It took over 2 hours to edit everything seemlessly. I uploaded it to youtube and made my powerpoint for my class presentation. This tedious process is over, and I couldn’t be happier.

Below are some screen shots of the work I did for the final

These Worn Shoes Progress Report April 23rd, 2014

Creative Process:

Viewing my project I thought that something was missing. I knew that I could give my object a personality through music, but I really wanted to give him a voice. So I gave him a literal voice. I made a script based on the scenes that I had played out. I decided upon a name by bouncing of ideas between my roommate and myself. We decided upon the name Bert, and the awkward, worn down shoes was born. This made me research music that would fit well with a name like Bert. I wanted him to be kinda unhappy, and be portrayed as a misfit.

Below is the a rough script I decided to use for my video. If you read through it, you’ll see that I wanted to give Bert a good ending, so the video wasn’t completely depressing.

My Creative Process:

Today I decided  to shoot my final scenes. They surprisingly took the least amount of time to complete. I think because I have gotten use to the stop motion technique, I was able to create faster. I was able to conclude my short film as well as make a beginning so that the movie had some context. I took over 200 photos that made about 30 sec worth of content. Next is the fun part…editing.

Below are some photos from my shoot.

This week I am focusing on packaging again.

Doritos packaging design

Image

This design is creative because it creates a new way to interact with Doritos. It has a cool geometric shape that relates back to Doritos triangle design.

These Worn Shoes Creative Process April 20th, 2014

My Creative Process:

I had a difficult time coming up with ideas for my shoes initial because I was thinking what do shoes actually do? How do they interact? What drives them. When I went to shoot my scenes, some of them were from my story board but others were from short burst of inspiration. I began to get more ideas for the way my shoes interacted by feeling them out. My process changed quite a bit because of the weather and the fact that it wasn’t consistent (sometimes windy, too sunny or not enough sun). I used the creative technique of going out into the field and actually changing my process based on the context. I plan to shoot again tomorrow, weather permitting. And hopefully my shoes won’t fall over every 5 sec (See pictures below).

5 Creative Products April 14th, 2014

This week will focus on innovative packaging for certain products

Replenish

Image

This packaging is creative because it gets rid of wasteful large plastic bottles and replaces it with a smaller replaceable packaging. It also lets the user interact with the cleaning process. Instead of going to the store constantly to buy this product, you’d only need to purchase the concentration a couple of times, making it even less wasteful.

The New Clorox Bottles

Image

This packaging is creative because it allowed the company to use their same product, but be able to market it better. Instead of the straw to the spray bottle going straight down, it curves to the form of the bottle so it’s able to get every last drop. It’s just a simple thing that saves product and creates incentive for consumers to buy her product.

The Tea Cup

Image

This mug gets every last drop of tea. It is creative because its solves the problem of having a wet tea bag and not knowing where to put it after the tea is steeped. Overall, I’d want one of these so that I can get all the flavor from my tea leaves.
